Project Officer (Urban Development)

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) s hiring a Project Officer for Urban Development to join its Nepal Resident Mission in Kathmandu. ADB states this role is crucial for its mission to alleviate poverty and promote sustainable development across Asia. The selected candidate will contribute to delivering impactful sector strategies and integrated solutions within the Water and Urban Development Sector Office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage loans, grants, and technical assistance (TA) for urban development projects.
- Help process new loans, grants, and TAs.
- Monitor project progress and track financial targets.
- Find and fix issues during project execution with partners and government agencies.
- Advise government bodies on ADB guidelines for procurement and hiring.
- Work with other ADB teams and departments.
- Prepare project completion reports.
- Support policy discussions with the government.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a similar infrastructure field (advanced training is a plus).
- At least 8 years of relevant experience in managing and carrying out water or urban development projects.
- Good understanding of project planning, design, implementation, and contract management.
- Familiarity with government systems and procedures.
- Knowledge of procurement and payment processes.
- Good written and spoken English skills.
- Proficiency in the local language.
