IPAS Nepal organized a workshop on the intersection of climate change, gender, and sexual and reproductive health rights, which mainly focused on climate and SRHR (sexual and reproductive health rights) linkage.
In the event, the impacts of climate change on different layers were discussed with highlights on how climate change impacts women and marginalized groups more by linking the climate crisis to health rights, including maternal care and hygiene. The event also discussed how women are affected in indirect ways due to climate change, with evident facts and proof that climate change affects the sexual and reproductive health of women directly.
Discussions at the event included social and climatic norms, underscoring that the issue remains in the shadows. This event sought to bring women's SRHR into the light, raise awareness, and address its impacts on both women and society.

IPAS promotes a climate-resilient SRHR system and advocates for inclusive policies and systemic change in climate action, talking about strengthening local health infrastructure and mobile services, and engaging communities through dialogues and awareness campaigns. After rejecting false solutions, discussions centered on the root causes of climate change, capitalism, patriarchy, and militarism, and called for inclusive, rights-based, and intersectional climate action.
Climate change and SRHR linkage are not spoken about much and are not brought into the mainstream, but these are important issues concerning a large population, along with how the social and political dissection of SRHR reveals a deep understanding of climate change's effects.
