Two back-to-back earthquakes shake Jajarkot

Two earthquakes struck Jajarkot district in Karnali Province on Friday evening, just three minutes apart, causing widespread panic among residents.

Two earthquakes struck Jajarkot district in Karnali Province on Friday evening, just three minutes apart, causing widespread panic among local residents.

The first quake, with a magnitude of 5.2, occurred at 8:07 pm, followed by a second, stronger tremor with a magnitude of 5.5, followed at 8:10 pm, according to the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Center.

Both quakes had their epicenters near Paink in Kushe Rural Municipality, approximately 525 km west of Kathmandu.

Tremors were felt in surrounding districts, including Surkhet, Dailekh, Kalikot, and parts of Dolpa.

As of the latest updates, no casualties or structural damages have been reported
