HR Senior Associate
UNOPS Nepal seeks an HR Senior Associate in Kathmandu to support recruitment, HR systems, and advisory services across projects.

The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) in Nepal is hiring a Human Resources (HR) Senior Associate to support recruitment, performance management, contract handling, and employee support services. This Kathmandu-based position works under the direct supervision of the functional supervisor and the broader direction of the Head of Support Services.
The associate will ensure that Human Resources practices align with UNOPS policies and support development goals across government and partner projects. The HR Senior Associate will act as the first point of contact for HR guidance, supporting both internal teams and external partners with clear communication, smooth onboarding, and adherence to organizational rules.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist in developing and implementing HR policies and practices
• Guide recruitment, contracts, position management, and employee benefits
• Offer advice on performance reviews and learning plans
• Submit and track HR transactions, such as contracts, extensions, and separations
• Manage talent acquisition processes, including interviews and onboarding
• Ensure personnel records are complete and systems are up-to-date
• Monitor HR deadlines and help streamline administrative processes
• Lead knowledge sharing and capacity-building sessions
• Supervise junior team members and ensure policy compliance
Eligibility to apply
Education:
• Completion of secondary education is required
• A university degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or Public Administration is preferred
• Familiarity with United Nations (UN) policies and procedures is highly desirable
Experience:
• At least 7 years of relevant experience in Human Resources advisory or administrative roles
• Experience with international or national organizations is preferred
• Working within the United Nations system is a plus
• Skilled in office software such as Microsoft Office or Google Suite
• Experience using HR systems or enterprise resource planning platforms is beneficial
